Impact Dashboard Frequently Asked Questions

Q. What is the Impact Dashboard?

A. The Impact Dashboard is a powerful tool to help you achieve your goals for 2010, and beyond by allowing your users to register for volunteering activities in numerous places, enter in their personal volunteer goals and update their progress, see that their volunteer hours matter, and feel part of a greater whole by rallying around the corporate goals and seeing what each volunteering hour can do.

Q. Is there a fee to have this enabled on our site?

A. These capabilities are being made available to all of our customers as part of our regular release schedule at no additional cost.

Q. When will our users be able to see this page?

A. As of March 3rd, all users will see the banner that includes the "Try It!" button.

Q. Where are the external events that are displayed on the old home page?
A.
External Events are not currently displayed on the Impact Dashboard. Look for these to return in a future release.

Q. How many Volunteering Accomplishments can I add to the Impact Dashboard?

A. You can have up to four accomplishments. We encourage you to refresh this list regularly.

Q. The current homepage includes a link allowing me to view my upcoming events. Is this available on the Impact Dashboard?

A. It is not. You can still view this information under My Page. Adding a link to the Impact Dashboard will be considered for a future release.

Q. How is the total value metric calculated?

A. This metric takes the total volunteer hours submitted for your company and multiplies it by the current hourly rate – in US dollars - of volunteer time as published by Independent Sector. If this hourly rate is different for your company’s, you can edit it by clicking on the Set Goal link.

Q. On what number of users is the Participation Rate metric calculated? All Users? Active Users?

A. This metric is calculated using the total number of employees uploaded into the system.

Q. Under the Me section – how you compare to other volunteers – who is the leader?
A.
The leader is the individual in your organization who has submitted the greatest number of volunteer hours.

Q. Can the metrics on the Impact Dashboard be driven off a fiscal rather than a calendar year?

A. This capability is not currently available but will be considered for a future release.

Q. How is the ‘Average Employee’ metric calculated under the Me section?

A. This metric is the result of taking the total number of volunteer hours divided by the number of employees that have submitted some number of hours.

Q. Can the Impact Dashboard be made as a separate tab, such as the about tab?

A. The Impact Dashboard is currently scheduled to replace the homepage on June 13th.

Q. Do individual employees have to set goals?

A. We encourage individual volunteers to set goals, but it is not mandatory. If you do not set goals it will only show you the actual value and not the progress towards your goal.

Q. Is it necessary for us to include our company goals on the Impact Dashboard?

A. It is not; however, we strongly believe that entering goals into the new Impact Dashboard puts you in a great position to generate significant – tangible - results for your company in 2010.

Q. Is the Key Stats view available to all users or just System Administrators?
A.
This view is only available to system administrators.

Q. What other functionality will change when the new dashboard is implemented?

A. It will be much easier for system administrators to edit content using a link on this page.

Q. Is the "Me" volunteering goal editable to track hours instead of events?

A. It is not currently editable. The popup provides an immediate translation when a user enters a number of events and allows that user to adjust the figure to set the appropriate number of hours. Also, progress tracking is in hours not events.

Q. Will we be able to run reports or capture data on the goals at any given time?

A. We haven’t modified the detailed reporting section; however, you will be able to monitor the progress towards your goals in real-time through the dashboard.

Q. How does 'friends and family' factor into the percentage participation goal?
A.
Currently it does not. The Participation Rate is based on the number of users that signed up for events divided by the total users. Under the Key Stats view we report on "All hours logged (Including Friends and Family)”.

Q. Are these goals tied to rewards or can they be?

A. Goals are not integrated with our Rewards module. This will be considered for a future release.

Q. Our company uses groups; can metrics be run for these groups rather than all employees?

A. This capability is not currently available but will be considered for a future release.

Q. Is the News & Information widget available on the Impact Dashboard?

A. It is not. This capability will be considered for a future release.

Q. Is the Advanced Search available from the Impact Dashboard?
A.
Selecting the Search button at the bottom of the Local Event widget brings users to the advanced search screen.
